Sandy, Oregon

Elder Cook has been transferred to a city called Sandy. It's a bit South and East of Portland and just West of Mt. Hood. It's mostly a farming community. He loves it there and is thinking that he'll probably stay there for the rest of his mission.

He and his companion, Elder Revolorio (from Guatemala) are staying with the Bishop.
I talked to Bishop Brown on Friday and he said that Thomas is a pleasure to have around, that they have been very busy and are doing a great job as missionaries. They are what's called Span-Am Elders because they are covering a Spanish Branch and an English Ward. He's excited to be able to pick up a little bit of Spanish. Thomas says that he understands a lot of what they are saying but is still working on the speaking of the language.

We are very anxious to have him return home but are trying not to convey that in letters because he's trying to focus on the work for these last few months and weeks.

Thomas hasn't sent us any more pictures but says he has two memory card full so he'll send some soon. We sure appreciate all the love and support you have all shown him.
